I’m always excited to read anything that’s won the Women’s Prize (as per my previous post). But this is one of the few that, it turns out, isn’t my kind of thing.
The prodigal son returns to the family home after 20 years away. The plot is very slow, very godly and I found the main characters a bit insufferable.
Like Anne Tyler, this to me is another example of a lesser Anne Patchett.
